In this episode we share our thoughts from Cooper Flagg’s introductory press conference with the Dallas media, which we were there to cover. We talk about our first impressions of him as well as some interesting quotes from the event. One thing we focused on was Jason Kidd’s statement that he wants Cooper to play point guard next season and how that is a good sign for his development.
We then talk about the implications of recent contract extensions signed by Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gafford and how that sets the Mavericks up for this offseason. We discuss their reported interest in D’Angelo Russell and whether that would be a wise move.
Finally, we discuss our thoughts on the Mavericks’ undrafted free agent signings of Ryan Nembhard from Gonzaga and Miles Kelly from Auburn. We agree that while neither of them will likely make an impact on the team next season, the Mavs Summer League team should be a fun watch.
